Where else would you want to be to kick off Fashion Week in NYC but at Bryant Park?! It was all glamor and glitz at The Heart Truth Red Dress Runway event this past Thursday, February 11th and Aleeta, Media Director, Matt and I were rubbing elbows with some of the most well-known people in the industry. I was escorted to a seat within arms length of the runway and practically looked up the skirts of the ladies walking the runway. (I said PRACTICALLY! not REALLY!) In each seat sat a canvas goodie bag with an elegant program, tin water bottle, shinny zipper bag that was a sort of mini first aid kit AND ... Diet Coke!
The names of each year's runway walkers is kept a guarded secret until last minute, so it was a big surprise. Here's the lineup:
• Bethany Frankel (Real Housewives of NY)
• Elsabeth Hasselbeck (ABC's The View)
• Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives)
• Dara Torres (Olympic comeback star)
• Estelle (Grammy Award winning singer)
• Heidi Klum (super model)
• Joan Collins (actress, known for her role in Dynasty)
• Jordin Sparks (American Idol 6th season winner)
• Kim Kardashian (actress)
• Kimora Lee (designer, author, model)
• Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, West Wing)
• Mamie Gummer (Known for Sally Adams – HBO mini-series)
• Pauley Perrette (CSI Crime Scene Investigation, Drew Carey)
• Raven-Symoné (That's So Raven)
• Regina King (police drama Southland)
• Robin Roberts (ABC's Good Morning America)
• Valerie Harper (Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda)
The event was over in no time and we all walked next door to a cocktail reception at the Public Library and mingled. My favorite beverage of the evening? Diet Coke (of course) in adorable tin bottles. So cuuuuuuuute!
But if you want to know what REALLY happened ... after the evening was over, we couldn't find the parking garage. We walked so far in the wrong direction that I actually took off my heals and walked in stockings through the winter streets of NY ... and it felt good! Oh well, great activity points, right? :)
