Random House reports exciting numbers in sales. I don't understand all the numbers, but I do know they've had to go back to press three times since it's release just over two months ago. Whoo Hoo! Mark and I joke that perhaps they're only printing 10 books each time. Ha!
Thank you all for your continued support. I feel so blessed. It's wonderful when you share about the book with others. The following posting made me so happy. It is from the Weight Watchers website chat rooms where I frequently post (anonymously). I enjoy the support and friendships.
Thank you all again. Mwuah!

Hi Bailey,
Oh. I'm so glad you're enjoying the book ... and the bagels! Yum! There are tons of recipes on my site just for the bagels and one of them is a pizza bagel. Here's the link:

Kim,
I am reading your book for the second time, and I've only had it for a couple of months. I can't tell you how much your story is helping me to stay on track. I've begun walking and riding bikes with my husband and son, too. I love the bean chili recipe in the book, and I had it for lunch today. My boss saw it in the fridge and said, "Wow, that looks good!" It is. :)
Anyway, I got my bagel order on Saturday and I already know that I don't want to be without them. I'm sure I can figure out a way to make a healthy pizza on the wheat one.
Thanks again for taking the time to care about all of us. You're truly a special person.

Hi Kim!
Just have to tell you that I LOVE your book. I'm back on WW for the millionth time but this time feeling so much more committed, thanks in great part to your book. So far I've read it cover to cover twice and keep it by my bed for a quick pick-up when I've had a not so great day (it's my "Weight Loss Bible"). I applaud you for your weight loss, obviously, but also for sharing your experiences (and some of them I'm sure were hard to relive) and your success with us. Thanks to you I've got a brand new attitude about losing weight and have finally come to grips with the fact that this will never "end" if I want to be successful -- which is ok with me now! And, I love that you're about my age -- at least I'm pretty sure you are based on some things you said and some of the pics :o) It gives me hope!! Kept thinking once I reached that "certain" age I was doomed to just be overweight (my mom told me I look like I'm supposed to look!). Again, thanks so much for sharing yourself and your weight loss journey with us. God Bless!

Hi Motivated,
Congratulations on getting started again and working toward your weight goal. I'm so glad people were posting about my book. I love the WW boards and am frequently on just reading and enjoying everyone else's posts. When I do post it's under "ResultNotTypical", but I don't post too often.
I'm really glad they had the book in the library for you. I've heard the waiting list can be long and I'm happy you were able to get reading right away. I hate waiting once I"m geared up and ready to go. Don't you? :)
You can do it Motivated! My favorite saying was by Jim Ryun, "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." Set some good habits while you're motivated and you'll get to that goal you're seeking!! Let me know how you make out. :)

Hi Laura,
I'm so glad you're enjoying Finally Thin. That means more to me than you know.
WW is an excellent diet for type II, BUT YOU have to be in control. Just like with many diets, there is wiggle room in the WW program. Once you have met your daily good healthy guidelines (2-3 milks, 4-5 oz of protein, 5 fruits/veggies, etc) there is opportunity at the end to fill up the rest of your points with processed carbs. This is where ALL OF US, but especially diabetics, need to make better choices and fill up our days with healthier points choices. Weight loss is basically calories in vs calories out. There's no magic and whether you count carbs, calories, points or units you WILL lose weight if you are motivated. WW is a great way to go, but find the way the best fits you so that you will LOVE what you're doing and be more likely to stick with it long term. Let me know what you choose and how you make out. Whatever you choose, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! And congrats on your excellent start of 23 lbs. Whoo hoo!!!!

Kim, thank you so much for writing this book. I saw your book mentioned on the WW boards. Although it wasn't even supposed to be there according to the library's records, it was on the new-books shelf waiting for me, two days into my newest start on losing 46 lbs. You were a role model for a lot of people already and now you're one for me!
It was brave of you to go public with this story and I'm so glad that translates into other areas of success for you. In fact I'll buy the book as a reward for losing my first 10 percent this time (18 lbs.).

Kim,
I bought your book on the recommendation of a fellow Type II who was most impressed with your approach to eating and cooking. I read half the book in one sitting which is rare for me but what I couldn't get over is how 'real' you are and it comes right through.
I'm sure it wasn't easy to confess the many embarrassments you suffered through the years but you've helped countless people by doing so. I want to tell you that your book has had the biggest impact on me of ANY of the weight loss books I've read and I've read many! :)
I lost 23 pounds a year ago on my own following low sugar and carb counting but I've been stalled for a year now with NO weight loss and I need to lose another 70 pounds. Is WW a good way to go for Type II's? Just wondering if I should give it a try.
Again, thank you so much for your help and your availability to all of us......God bless you.

Hi Janet, When I give the Morning Show recipes (I'm on there every few weeks) they're supposed to post them on their site so you don't have to purchase the books. Email them and see if they have them. At this point in time we can only show the eight recipes at a time which we update every 2 weeks or so. We just did lasagna so it won't be around again for a while. But when I'm on TV I always make the recipes available for free wherever I'm appearing.
Look for Joseph's Wraps (the best). Cedar's also has a 1 point Lavash Bread. They should be 9" x 12" and the packaging label should say 50 calories for 1/2 the lavash. They're soft and delish! I use them for TONS of things, but the best thing ever is the noodles. Someone who saw the segment made it for her family and her kids didn't have a clue! Everyone loved it! You HAVE to try it!
Sandra -- You're so cute! Way to go on WW and I'm really glad you like the bagels. Check out all the bagel recipes under the bagel link on the main page. Yummmmm! You go girl. You can do it!

Good Morning,
I am sitting here ENJOYING one of your bagels with FF cream cheese and decided to checkout your website. OMG where have you been all my life? I joined WW two weeks ago and need to lose 75 lbs or else I will be on BP and Cholesterol medicine and I refuse. Was a rough two weeks as the first week, I had too many after work activities which involved dinner and should have waited a week. The second week I had the stomach flu...so yesterday I faced the music and weighed in...I lost .4 which isn't much, but baby steps right? I plan on buying your book and loggin in every morning as I enjoy my breakfast.
Kim, you are truly an inspiration and I cannot wait to finally be happy and healthy!

Kim, I was flipping channels and saw your segment on the M&J morning show. You had your lasagna and key lime pies and they were tasting them. Both hosts said that they liked our version better. I looked up this website to get the recipe and realized that I would have to buy the book first. I wasn't going to but I really wanted to try the Key Lime, my sons favorite. He also struggles with weight and I wanted to surprise him. I went and got the book yesterday and I am so glad I did. I read the whole thing and even went thru the recipes and wrote the points on each. My sister did WW and has kept the weight off, I did it with her without going to the meetings and lost most of my weight but have gained back half of it. In reading your book, you have really gotten to me in a way that no one else has been able to. Your honesty and humor are amazing! I felt ike I was in the room with you when you made your goal weight and had to laugh that your daughter would not let you replace your batteries. In God's hands, right?! I want to make the lasagna but I am not sure on the wraps. I am in the Tampa area and Publix does not carry the brands you suggested. Is there something special to look for when buying an alternative. I have gotten the Ole fat free ones, but not wheat. I didn't want to mess up the nutritional info you had listed. Thank you again for putting yourself out there. I have posted this on other blogs because I did not realize all these different strings were here. I I guess I got to excited. I did make the lasagna with some low carb tortillas I found at our grocery and it was outstanding. Kids liked it too. Thank you again
