Italian Wontons

  • 1 cup grilled chicken, diced
  • ¼ cup fat-free, shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 48 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup pizza sauce, for dipping

Combine chicken, cheese, garlic salt, and pepper - chop to finely mince. Mix together in a large bowl. Place 1 tsp of mixture in the center of the wonton wrapper. Fold over into a triangle shape, pinching ends to close (dip your fingers in water to help seal it closed). Make ahead of time and pop in the oven on a cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 350º just before serving. Heat pizza sauce in a microwave safe bowl. Serve as a dipping sauce for the wontons.

"Your imagination is all you need to vary this recipe in many ways. Make it Mexican - a little taco seasoning in with the chicken and a side of salsa for dipping. Or Asian - a sweet and sour shrimp filling and wasabi or duck sauce for dipping. It's the incredible edible wonton!"
