What a special treat for Mom to wake up on a special day to a delicious breakfast in bed! This is a great project for kids of all ages -- and for dads, too! This well planned meal is quick and easy for kids to do “on their own” and it’s also well-rounded. The egg gives mom her protein boost. Berries offer her a fruit serving and the yogurt gives the dairy she needs, too. Fresh berries are not only healthy, they need very little cutting. Best of all, our meal plan for mom is a light and healthy one. And you know mom -- she’ll love it even more if it tastes great and is healthy, too!
BACON, EGG & CHEESE BREAKFAST SANDWICH
COFFEE, TEA (or in the case of our mom - DIET COKE)
EASY BREAKFAST PLAN:
1. Several days before, make up a shopping list from the menu and recipes below and buy the ingredients that you will need. (Get dad in on it!)
2. The evening before, set the tray and gather all the equipment you will need. Set out your card, add some fresh flowers and get to bed early. You’re going to want to wake up way before mom!
3. First thing that morning, put on the coffee or tea. Make up the Yogurt & Berry Parfait and keep it in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it. Make your Shirley Temple’s Mom and keep that in the refrigerator, too.
4. Finally, build your Breakfast Sandwich. Put all the breakfast items on your tray and head in to surprise mom.
5. Remember … nothing says "I Love You!" like cleaning up behind yourself. Don’t let mom wake up to your messes!
