weight loss motivation, tools, and support

I am thankful for the struggle I have with food.

I used to hate it. Everyone has something they have to deal with. Why do I have to have something that’s so visible? Everyone knows what my weakness is!

But today, I’m thankful. My struggle with my weight has given me so much.

I’m thankful for the chance to show my children that one can overcome anything, even those things that seem to be impossible.

I’m thankful for the blessing of spiritual growth. I’ve learned to lean on God in times where my strength was non-existent. II Corinthians 12:9-10 says, “But God said, 'My grace is suffcient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' That is why I delight in weaknesses, in hardships, in diffculties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

I’m thankful for a new way of living that feels GOOD, inside and out. Without the need for change, there would never have been a solution.

I’m thankful for dear friends that I never would have met otherwise. The many who flock to our Center in CT, and those far away. I’ve learned from them; struggled with them; and forged a bond that surpasses the miles in-between.

I’m thankful for a family that has adored me despite my failures, encouraged me through the dark days. gave me unconditional love and unending laughter.

I’m thankful for a future that promises to be healthier – and longer, Lord willing – because of the changes I have made.

Let’s face it, ingratitude (complaining) isn’t good for you or anyone around you. It brings us down and keeps us down. So join me in giving thanks. Yes, even for our weight struggle. In doing so you, you just might be taking one long-awaited step to overcoming it.

Happy Thanksgiving from my family all of us at The Center
